In 2021, Midiativa—the Brazilian Center on Media for Children and Adolescents—was recognized as a “Ponto de Cultura” by the Brazilian Ministry of Culture. This certification confirms that the initiative develops and coordinates cultural activities within its community and contributes to access, protection, and promotion of rights, citizenship, and cultural diversity in Brazil.

Midiativa Point of Culture 2025–2026

Selected through a call for proposals by the São Paulo State Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy, the Midiativa Cultural Point 2025–2026 project plans to hold workshops, audiovisual exhibitions, and training sessions for children, teachers, and cultural agents working in the fields of children’s audiovisual media, culture, the environment, and education.

Among its objectives is to contribute to the development of skills related to critical thinking, the formation of citizens, and the ability to navigate more easily through the various media we use today. From a cultural education perspective, we offer a sensitive and attentive approach to aesthetics, which promotes the development of visual and artistic skills. Additionally, the project aims to raise awareness among children and young people regarding the environment and the adoption of more sustainable lifestyles.

We are also working in accordance with the Living Culture Law, which seeks to promote the full exercise of cultural rights; in our case, we focus more specifically on children and youth. Training programs for teachers and cultural agents aim to provide tools to stimulate each individual’s capacity for social agency and encourage collaboration within networks. At the same time, various cultural organizations collaborate with Midiativa to enhance activities across different fronts. These include CEU Jaguaré, the Apecatu Association, Unibes Assistencial, and the Petrobras Cinema Space.

Film Screenings

The in-person Ponto de Cultura Midiativa 2026 film screenings is scheduled to tour the project’s partner venues and will also be screened at other social and cultural organizations. Additionally, an online festival will take place on the comKids platform, within the comKids portal—a cultural initiative linked to Midiativa.
